Routine cleaning in eight steps

Power down and unplug.

Lift away loose debris.

If Monroe confirms it is appropriate for the model, keep the can upright, use short controlled bursts, and follow every label warning. Do not spin mechanisms or drive debris deeper into the housing. -
Wipe the exterior.
Use a dry microfiber cloth first. For remaining soil, lightly dampen the cloth with water, wring it thoroughly, and keep moisture away from openings. Never spray the machine. -
Inspect supplies.
Replace a dry or exhausted ribbon when print is uniformly faint. Replace wrinkled, damp, dusty, or incorrectly sized paper. -
Reinstall supplies.
Follow the manual so the ribbon is seated and the paper feeds straight without tension or obstruction. -
Reconnect and test.
Print a short calculation. Check key response, character clarity, paper tracking, and unusual sounds.
Stop and contact support if there is a burning smell, liquid intrusion, damaged cord, repeated electrical fault, grinding noise, cracked housing, or persistent paper-feed problem. Do not continue powering the unit to “see if it clears.”
