Introducing Joe Amoriello: Our Marketing Manager and Blog Maestro

Hi, I'm Joe. I'm the type of person who writes these things.
I'm the Marketing Manager here at Monroe and I'm going to be writing more blogs that are more relevant to you, our customers.
You're likely just meeting me now, but I've actually been with the company for about 2 years. That's because Monroe's had me behind the scenes, learning about the company, it's history, and working on new initiatives. Now, they're setting me free, telling me to spread my wings and go wild on our blog!
So, hi everyone!
My name is Joe Amoriello. Not Amarillo, like the town in Texas, or the color yellow in Spanish, but Amoriello, which is said to mean "Little Love" (like a crush) in Italian. Or at least, in my family it is. Maybe that's just an Amoriello thing. I don't really know.
Anyways, I'm currently 24 years old, have a rescue pit-bull named Kelso, am a huge fan of all sports (Trust the Process), traveling, and food. I try to eat healthy and live an active lifestyle, but occasionally I succumb to a chocolate chip cookie craving and a good superhero movie. What can I say, we all have our weaknesses.
What the heck qualifies you to write these??
I began at Monroe in November of 2016 as an intern. At the time, I was a graduating senior at Rutgers Camden, a double major in Marketing and Management, and eager to graduate and begin my career. Had you asked me if I thought I'd have a career at a calculator company, I would have thought you were insane. As someone who had many finance and accounting courses in college, my first response to hearing about Monroe was "What the heck is a printing calculator??"
But, that was how it all began. The Sales and Marketing Manager of Monroe, Jason Marsdale (now the VP of Marketing and Sales), came in as a guest speaker for one of my Business Leader Development Program classes. He told us about Monroe, his background, and how he had come up from a very similar situation to the one I was in. Being naturally inquisitive and at a turning point in my life, I decided to talk Jason's ear off after class. I literally would not stop asking him questions. Truth be told, I thought he hated me after I finally let him go.
I couldn't have been more wrong.
He liked the energy and passion I showed and reached out to me two-weeks later on LinkedIn to tell me about a new project he had for an intern. And that's how I learned what a printing calculator is!
I learned the importance it plays in accounting departments and financial institutions across the world. I was called in for an interview and found myself getting an offer a few days later. Once hired, I got to work immediately and have been growing my skills and knowledge since.
You seem like a cool guy, but what's the point of these?
My current goal is to provide you value by discussing the products we offer, their features, how to use them, and more. I want to create posts that can become a resource for you whenever you have any questions.
I also want to open our doors and give some insight into Monroe today. I want to get to know each other better. I hope to spur some discussion in the comments section.
