5 Office Hacks for Daily Fitness: Make Every Workday Count

Staying Fit in the Office: Top 5 Tips for a Healthier Workday

We typically spend 40 hours of the week at work. We go home, feed the kids, clean the house, and complete our daily chores. By the time you finish all of this, it’s time for bed. So where do you find the time to stay fit without going to the gym? Use these 5 tips to staying fit to get the most out of your workday!

Avoid Unhealthy Snacking

Contrary to popular belief, it’s actually healthier to have a few snacks as opposed to one big meal. We all start to fatigue throughout the day, and need some energy to help us power through. When you choose to snack, make it worth your while. Instead of chips, freeze some grapes for that crunchy craving your feeling. You can also grab some greek yogurt for a tangy-sweet taste instead of that donut in the conference room you can’t stop thinking about. Check out our previous blog post to see our recommendations of the top 5 snacks your office needs!

Use a Yoga Ball

Instead of slouching in your office chair, change your seating up. Grab a big yoga ball from the local sporting goods store and sit comfortably! Sitting on a yoga ball enhances your core muscles, so that six-pack you’re wishing for, isn’t that far away! Soon enough, you’ll barely even notice you’re doing it!

Take the Long Way

Whether you’re going to the bathroom, or parking your car, plan your route to be the farthest from where you need to go. The extra few yards will benefit you later. Have to walk to the break room? Take an extra lap around the office before returning to your seat to burn off those extra calories from the blueberry muffin you had for breakfast this morning!

Drink Water

Stay hydrated! The best thing you can do for your body is to drink water. Avoid drinking soda and extra coffee in the afternoons. Instead, trade them out for a cold glass of water. Your body will thank you, and you’ll see noticeable results faster than you think. Not only will this help burn some extra calories, but your skin will get brighter and clearer, and your appetite will decrease. You can never drink enough water!

Take Breaks

Not only do you need to keep your body fit, but you need to keep your mind sharp, too. Try concentrating for an hour, and then take a 10 minute break. Take that time to breathe, take a walk, exercise, or anything else to refresh, and then it’s back to work! Taking breaks also means committing to the cruise to the Bahamas, or going to the mountains for the weekend. A week’s vacation is needed when you’ve been working tirelessly all year. Take the time-off you deserve and make the most of it, but when you step back into the office, get ready to work hard.
